At Faith Plumbing we offer two types of price options for most of our service and repair work.
Option 1:
Flat Rate Pricing.
Flat rate pricing has become very popular in recent years. The contractor agrees to complete the repair for a set price before starting the repair. The homeowner agrees to the price and signs off on the contractor to start fixing the problem. This pricing method allows the homeowner to feel secure in knowing that a repair will not exceed a certain dollar amount, while the contractor absorbs all of the risk in absorbing any extra cost overruns in labor or extra materials by having a set price. With the Flat Rate system you pay one final price upfront.
Option2:
Time and Materials Pricing.
This method of pricing has been around for quite a long time. In this method the customer agrees to a set hourly fee for labor (contractors time) and agrees to pay for the materials (parts and items) needed to complete the repair. Generally the materials provided by the contractor are marked-up a certain percentage to pay for the contractor's overhead, cost of carrying the material on the service truck, and the cost of having to buy the item before the contractor arrives at the customers house to keep the service truck stocked. In this method the homeowner pays the contractor at the end of the job for all labor and parts used. This method is mostly used with projects that span more than a 2-week time period.
There are some items which cannot have a flat rate price attached to them. An example would be "Finding a leak in a water pipe behind a wall". Generally the investigative work used to find the leak is charged by the hour, and when the contractor finds the leak, the homeowner agrees to pay either the flat rate price before the work starts or the time and materials price after the repair is completed.
We happily offer both pricing methods on most of our common repairs to suit our customers preferences. Our Flat rate customers generally feel more secure in knowing that the cost of a repair won't cost anymore than was quoted upfront, and our time and materials customers generally spend less. Ultimately its your money. On most of our common repairs you can decide which option suits you the best.
PLEASE NOTE : THERE IS A $95 SERVICE CALL FEE FOR ESTIMATES - THIS FEE IS APPLIED TO THE BALANCE OF ALL ACCEPTED ESTIMATES.
